WELCOME BACK. EVEN WITH THE KIDS BACK TO SCHOOL, IT’S STAYING BUSY AT THE RIVERFRONT. SO HERE TO TELL US ALL ABOUT THE EXCITING THINGS HAPPENING THIS MONTH. AND BEYOND IS MECA’S, VP OF COMMUNICATIONS, CHRISTINA ENGDAHL. SO WHAT’S GOING ON IN AUGUST? YEAH, THANKS FOR HAVING ME. WAVERLE. AND YOU’RE RIGHT, EVEN WITH SCHOOL BEING BACK IN SESSION OR COMING UP, WE’RE STILL JUST AS BUSY AS EVER AT THE RIVERFRONT, ESPECIALLY COMING UP IN AUGUST. AND AND LARGELY BECAUSE IT’S MADE POSSIBLE BY A LOT OF THE PROGRAM PARTNERS WHO CONTINUE TO COME IN AND HELP ACTIVATE THE SPACE AND MAKE IT A REALLY SPECIAL PLACE ALL YEAR ROUND. SO, OF COURSE, LOTS OF THOSE RECURRING EVENTS THAT ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY PROGRAM PARTNERS INCLUDE FITNESS CLASSES, THE YMCA IS BACK. HEALING TENDER HEARTS IS ALSO HERE THIS MONTH AS WELL AS WELL AS YOGA WITH LOTUS, SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS WEEKLY IS THE RIVERFRONT WALKING CLUB THAT HAPPENS EVERY MONDAY, WHICH IS A FUN OPPORTUNITY FOR FOLKS TO GATHER AND WALK. YEAH, AND THEN THE LEAHY MALL YACHT CLUB MEETS ON SUNDAYS, WHERE THEY GET TOGETHER AND DRIVE AROUND THOSE TOY MOTORIZED BOATS, WHICH IS ALSO WONDERFUL, BUT SOME BIG MARQUEE EVENTS TO REMEMBER COMING UP. THIS INCLUDE THIS SATURDAY WHEN WE HAVE A THROWBACK SKATE NIGHT WITH A LIVE DJ, AND THEN ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 18TH, SOMETHING WE’VE REALLY BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO IS THE OMAHA COMMUNITY PLAYHOUSE 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, WHICH WILL INCLUDE PERFORMANCES AND A VARIETY SHOW FROM THE SEASON. YEP, THAT’S COMING UP AT THE END OF THE MONTH WITH THE MOVIE WISH AND GENE LEAHY MALL, ALONG WITH THE DISNEY THEMED SKATE NIGHT. WE LOVE A THEMED SKATE NIGHT. YOU KNOW, WE CAN’T RESIST. AND THEN LASTLY, AUGUST 24TH IS ROSE FEST, CELEBRATING THE ROSE THEATER. SO THE TEAM IS ALSO WORKED TO ORGANIZE THINGS LIKE MIDWEEK FOOD TRUCK RALLIES AND THEN THOSE ART GAMING. AND WHAT’S THE LAST ONE? BOOK CARTS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE ROUTINELY THAT ARE, YOU KNOW, A GOOD OPPORTUNITY FOR DAILY ACTIVATION. SO WE ALWAYS SAY GO TO THE RIVERFRONT OMAHA.COM/EVENTS TO SEE ALL THE GREAT THINGS THAT WE HAVE COMING UP AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY THE PARK. YEAH, OKAY. COOL. GREAT. THANKS, CHRISTINA. YEAH. ALL RIGHT. FOR MORE INFORMATION, YOU CAN GO TO THE RIVERFRONT OMAHA.COM/EVENTS. AND IT’S JUST AS BUSY AT CHI CENTER WITH UPCOMING CONCERTS. UH, WHAT ARE WE DOING? CORRECT. YEAH. YOU KNOW, WE’RE REALLY SLAMMED TOWARDS THE END OF THE MONTH TO THE CONCERTS THAT ARE COMING UP. SO MOST IMMEDIATELY, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH IS ON AUGUST 21ST. OKAY. WHICH IS I IS I THINK, MORE OF A HEAVY METAL CROWD. YEAH. SO WE’LL LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING THEM TO, UH, CHANGING GENRES A LITTLE BIT. DIERKS BENTLEY IS ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 24TH. THEN JUST TWO DAYS LATER, STYX AND FOREIGNER COME TO THE CAHILL CENTER ON AUGUST 26TH. THE NEXT DAY IS THE DOOBIE BROTHERS. THEY MOVE IN FOR THE NIGHT ON AUGUST 27TH. AND THEN, YOU KNOW, OF COURSE, REALLY, KUDOS TO OUR OPERATIONS TEAM AND THE STAGEHANDS THAT HELPED MAKE THOSE OVERNIGHT QUICK SWITCHES HAPPEN, RIGHT? ALMOST ON A ROUTINE BASIS. SO IT KEEPS THEM REALLY BUSY THERE, TOO. THEN WE HAVE ANOTHER CONCERT UNTIL MID SEPTEMBER WITH CAGE, THE ELEPHANT, AND THEN WE’LL THINK ABOUT CONVENTION SEASON AND THE RODEOS IN MID SEPTEMBER. BUT OF COURSE WE JUST HAD THE LEGENDARY BARRY MANILOW. WE HAD PESO PLUMA, ALSO A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. I WANT TO SAY THAT WAS WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? SO, YOU KNOW, WE REALLY PRIDE OURSELVES ON OFFERING A VARIETY OF CONCERTS FOR THE COM
